Mission & Vision

The mission of the CTTG is: To enable collaborative and efficient research in Transfusion Medicine in Canada.

The vision of the CTTG is: To inform best practices in Transfusion Medicine through a national network and multi-disciplinary research partnerships.

 

OBJECTIVES

The primary objective of the CTTG is to address high-impact research questions in Transfusion Medicine through a collaborative network of investigators, trainees and research staff across Canada.

Secondary objectives include:

  1. Develop and execute innovative study designs and methodologies
  2. Develop a shared electronic data platform
  3. Foster mentorship and training of junior investigators, medical laboratory technologists, research staff, and trainees in research methodology
  4. Integrate basic translational studies into clinical research studies
  5. Establish effective collaboration and leadership in the Transfusion Medicine community

STRATEGIES

Accelerate research in Transfusion Medicine by working with national and international experts to improve research efficiency and rigour.

Develop partnerships and engage with stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps and priority areas for Transfusion Medicine research moving forward, and improve research execution and impact.

Establish a governance structure that supports the operations, infrastructure, and central resources of the network.

Foster education and mentorship to engage and support junior investigators, trainees, medical laboratory technologists, and research staff.
